Retirement and Income Solutions (RIS) provides guaranteed income to individuals in a predictable and low risk way and helps companies reduce their risk and remain financially strong. The RIS business, one of the largest U.S. segments in MetLife, has a wide variety of risk solutions, investment, and annuity-type products.

Job Location: Virtual within a commutable distance of Tampa FL or Alpharetta GA offices.

The Opportunity  

The Lead Administrator will perform a variety of complex tasks around death processing for Retirement and Income Solution customers. The administrator is responsible for collaborating with internal customers on requests for Death notifications and Abandon Property. The administrator is responsible for training and providing coaching to the team to improve performance in daily transactions. 

 

How You’ll Help Us Build a Confident Future (Key Responsibilities) 

  • Lead Administrator will have a small group to provide coaching and feedback to improve the overall performance of the Senior Administrator(s). 
  • Lead Administrator will work with leadership to create process workflows, participate in testing calls, and lead demonstrations. 
  • Lead Administrator will develop analytical skills, driving forward focus thinking on how to create improvement on the team and across leadership.
  • Working independently, perform complex tasks around core processing and administrative functions of the business unit. 
  • Exercise judgment and product understanding to determine appropriate handling of complex issues around core business functions of the unit and to resolve customer questions and escalations.
  • Function as a subject matter expert to both team members and internal customers 
  • Review financial impacted transactions for accuracy to eliminate risk. 
  • Perform high-value financial transactions in a consistently accurate and timely fashion. 
  • Maintain high standards of accuracy and data integrity.
  • Utilize experience, initiative, and judgment to analyze and resolve discrepancies and issues and resolve internal and external customer escalations that impact the unit on a high priority basis. 
  • Establish and maintain a positive and professional relationship with internal and external clients, customers, and business partners.
  • Respond to external and internal requests for information, including audits and Call Center requests.

 

What You Need to Succeed (Required Qualifications) 

 

  •  1+ year Claims experience 
  • High School diploma

 

What Can Give You an Edge (Additional Skills)

 

  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel experience.
  • Bachelor’s  degree
  • 5+ yrs. related experience
  • Proficient oral/written communication skills.
  • Strong problem solving and analysis.
  • Strong multi-tasking and prioritization.
  • Moderate knowledge of group products, services and systems.
  • Strong customer satisfaction focus.

 

 

 

The expected salary range for this position is $41,600 - $61,500. This role may also be eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation. All incentives and benefits are subject to the applicable plan terms.
