Key Responsibilities:
- Providing effective legal advice and day-to-day legal support to stakeholders in all functions;
- Reviewing, drafting and negotiating a variety of contracts and agreements;
- Legal opinion on a range of different projects;
- Providing advice and ability to deal with a wide range of legal and regulatory matters across the business lines;
- Responsibilities in data protection based on the requirements of the Bulgarian Data Protection Law; manage data protection issues;
- Prepare necessary legal documents and advisory information ensuring a quality service is provided to the business;
- Manage the external contractors to ensure service standards are met;
- Manage relationships with business stakeholders to understand business requirements;
- Participate in legal preparation and execution of business and other decisions and actions;
- Keep contact with the legal and compliance departments of the regional and home office, fulfil reporting requirements.
To become our next colleague, you’ll have to bring to the table the following:
- Legal prior experience in insurance industry (or financial industry as a background) is a great advantage (1-2 years);
- University degree in legal area;
- Knowledge of Bulgarian insurance / regulatory law;
- Fluency in English - verbally and in writing; Legal English knowledge;
- Ability and willingness to learn quickly and ask the right questions;
- High commercial focus;
- Ability to work with tight deadlines;
- Ability to work as a team member, both within the legal function and with business colleagues across the relevant business areas as a true partner;
- Very good communication and interpersonal skills;
- A flexible approach to meet the changing priorities of the MetLife Europe Legal team and the growing businesses.
