The Opportunity

This role sits within the Controllers team responsible for a variety of reporting bases including IFRS, Solvency II and USGAAP in countries across Levant including Egypt, Lebanon, Jordan and PNA and assistance on any other EMEA countries if required. 

 

How You’ll Help Us Build a Confident Future (Key Responsibilities)

  • Responsible primarily for the Finance regulatory reporting of IFRS 17 Insurance Contracts for the assigned countries as required.
  • Coordinate between the local team and central teams, EMEA PMO and the EMEA regional functional teams (Controllers, Actuarial, Investments)
  • Ensure primary statements and disclosures are correctly reflected in the financial statements.
  • Review journal requirements to ensure appropriate chart of accounts established and provide expense splits as required.
  • Ensure required reconciliations between IFRS accounting rules system, ledger and disclosures and reconcile source input data required for modelling to the ledger.
  • Test processes for any new ledgers required if applicable (foreign exchange, chart-fields, trails etc.).  
  • Identify and escalate risks and document key decisions and activities (accounting policies, methodology, system architecture).


What You Need to Succeed (Required Qualifications)

  • Minimum of 5 years experience as Reporting Manager focusing on IFRS and USGAAP accounting standards.
  • IFRS 17 implementation experience is a surplus.
  • Strong regulatory reporting/ financial reporting experience.
  • Strong MS Office experiences including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Good team player with ability to work on own initiative as well as part of the team.
  • Proficiency in English and Arabic to effectively communicate with stakeholders in the region.
