The associate will contribute to the overall understanding and reporting of MetLife’s Corporate & Other results. This candidate will work closely with their manager and other members of the team in support of the financial close processes, which include data integrity, ledger activity and research, and will also interact with various lines of business and functional areas. The Corporate and Other team collectively performs a wide range of tasks in support of GAAP and Statutory reporting requirements. These tasks include, but are not limited to, the involvement of corporate initiatives, reinsurance, enterprise-wide segment eliminations, investment portfolios, capital transactions and other holding company accounting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support accounting functions to report financial information timely and accurately according to the enterprise-wide close schedules
- Validate financial data with supporting documentation
- Communicates and provides management with reliable information needed to make strategic business decisions
- Prepare reports and perform analysis on multiple periodic views of financial results
- Maintain controlled and efficient processes
Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:
Required:
- Excellent communication and critical thinking skills
- Effective cross-team collaboration and relationship building skills
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Eager to continually seek opportunities for improvement
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting
- Experience with MetLife financial systems (HFM, Cubus/EV, OAC, PeopleSoft)
