Role Value Proposition:

As a MetLife Regional Market Account Executive you will be responsible for the sales and maintain a book of business for customers with 100 to 5000 employees. You will have the opportunity to distribute MetLife’s Group Benefits portfolio which includes life, dental, disability, vision, group legal, accident & health, whole life and more.  The MetLife Regional Market Account Executive is responsible for the top and bottom-line performance of their books of business

 

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Identify and foster new client relationships
  • Sell Group Benefits products and services through brokers up to 4,999 life group benefits market. 
  • Grow the book of business through proactive product sales, upsells, and renewals, within assigned territory. Maintain ongoing relationships with existing customers and brokers.  Partner with key internal resources (Client Service team) to identify opportunities to grow existing relationships.
  • Develop a strategic sales approach to attain new clients based on buying influences, risk factors and business objectives.
  • Recognize, shape and deliver profitable deals and anticipate strategic developments to the mutual benefit of the customer and MetLife.
  • Leverage the full suite of MetLife’s benefit offerings to position multi-product offerings for comprehensive benefit solutions.
  • Participate in strategic account planning processes to build lasting reciprocal relationships with new clients through open communications around mutual objectives.
  • Effectively partner and collaborate with MetLife’s Product, Marketing, Client Services, Legal and Enterprise Relationship Management and Finance organizations as needed.
  • Provide financial consultation to client organization, and gives consideration to financial decision making for MetLife and client organization.
  • Track sales and prospecting activity, progress, and strategies.
  • Participate in setting expectations, and driving successful implementation experience. 
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or required

 

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

  • 3+ years’ experience in insurance sales and/or after-sales service—with a proven track record of success
  • Ability to attain appropriate licensing as required including Life & Health and Property & Casualty licenses or obtain within six months of hire
  • Excellent partnership and influencing skills
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation and presentation abilities
  • Highly skilled at listening to prospect needs and translating into workable solutions
  • Ability to probe for additional detail and to identify root cause or unstated needs
  • Strong financial acumen around product earnings
  • Strategic and creative thinking skills
  • Strong organizational skills and highly developed ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively
  • Highly adaptable and capable of working in a very fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Accomplished change management leader, able to operate effectively in a highly matrix environment.
  • Able to accommodate a Hybrid work schedule
  • High school diploma or equivalent required (Bachelors or other advanced degree preferred)
