The Team You Will Join
This Senior Propositions Manager role sits within the UK Propositions team supporting Individual Protection (IP) and Employee Benefits (EB) business lines.
The Opportunity
The Senor Propositions Manager role supports the delivery of the UK propositions roadmap, from ideation through to market delivery.
As the UK business continues its growth trajectory and goal to cover more customers than ever before, the customer proposition team sits at the forefront of this, developing and delivering innovative propositions that support MetLife’s strategy of delivering customer and shareholder value by shaping propositions to create distribution advantage.
Internal collaboration is key, working with cross-functional teams, including distribution, data & AI, marketing, IT & Change and compliance to maximise alignment and ensure successful execution.
How You’ll Help Us Build a Confident Future (Key Responsibilities)
- Developing and maintaining market-leading propositions
- Strategic clarity on role and value of each proposition
- Work with stakeholders and team to justify propositional fair value for customers
- Design customer research to identify customer needs and aspirations
- Think creatively, innovate and take into account market developments and competitor offerings
- Relationships with external service providers
- Benchmark existing service providers against alternatives in the market
- Ongoing relationship management and governance process of existing service providers, customers and partners
- Measuring performance of our service providers and derive insights on customer behaviour, usage and business opportunity
- Maintain ongoing tender process to negotiate competitive fees and ensure best service for MetLife’s customers and meeting standards of MetLife’s procurement process
- Benchmarking against the market and measuring customer outcomes
- Monitoring our proposition against market standards, measuring customer outcomes, and meeting regulatory requirements to demonstrate fair value, meeting Consumer Duty, and taking care of Vulnerable Customers
- Review existing product literature, terms and conditions for appropriateness
- Monitoring of competitor developments and activities, turning knowledge into actionable insight
- Cross-functional collaboration
- Work closely with other members of the Propositions and wider Product (Propositions and Pricing) team to achieve optimal results, as well as with Distribution, Marketing, Data, IT, Operations, Risk & Compliance, and external distributors.
- Maintain good working relationships with other senior stakeholders at a UK, EMEA and Corporate level
- Technical management and support
- Answering of technical queries relating to our propositions, value-add services, terms and conditions. Ability to source information from other functions or external sources where required.
- Compliance with regulatory requirements and monitoring of regulatory developments, analysis of implications for our propositions.
- Addressing regulatory requests for information
- Development and management of product literature content, mapping of individual product series to individual terms and conditions
- Delivery of product and technical training to Sales and other stakeholders as they arise
- Drafting of tests for Sales prior to Product launch
What You Need to Succeed (Required Qualifications)
- Previously worked in a Product development role, in a similar industry as MetLife; Protection, Accident & Health, on an Individual or Corporate basis
- Have a strong commercial and strategic mindset
- Pay attention to detail
- Take ownership and personal responsibility for delivering timely, high-quality work.
- Possess strong problem-solving skills
- Have excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to interact with different stakeholders.
- Be able to source and collate data, draw conclusions and present findings.
- Learn quickly from experience
- Ability to work under pressure
- Able to work a hybrid working arrangement which sees you in the Brighton office 2 days a week

- Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute
