POSITION TITLE: Investments Operations Specialist (Grade 12)
DEPARTMENT: 
Investments / LOCATION: Japan

 

Key Relationships:

Reports to: Head of Operation, Asia Direct Reports: NA

Other Key Stakeholder: Trading, Portfolio Management, Valuations, Risk Management, IT, Operations and Finance team, MIM ICG/CS teams.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support for both Security & Derivative and Collateral management Operations across the region, demonstrating a knowledge of the front to back lifecycle. 
  • Understand the MetLife General Account and assist in helping build the MIM third party business across the region.
  • Contribute to expanding capabilities to support growing international business and regional projects.
  • Monitor and track regulatory items across both security operations and derivative workstreams.
  • Assist regional head in managing 3rd party client and vendor relationships across the region.
  • Perform oversight on all activities on outsourced functions and key third parties.
  • Be capable of building business cases for change and submitting ideas and being able to work with Regional Manager to obtain global stakeholder buy in and implement suggestions.
  • Create and update documentation that is to be used as part of Regional Operations Support.
  • Support regional implementation efforts of processing- and data-management platforms and associated governance programs. 
  • Work with team members across the organization to understand, identify and address issues or opportunities that lead to effective support processes and improvements in quality of services.
  • Liaise with front office teams, back-office teams, portfolio management, risk management and IT across all products for the region.

 

CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors Degree 
  • 3-5 years of investments operations experience supporting derivatives & security operations
  • Intermediate-Advanced Excel Skills – (Pivots, Macros, V lookup, Graphs)
  • Good quantitative, organizational, and planning skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
  • Dedicated, self-motivated, highly eager and interested in developing others.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.  
  • Knowledge of Calypso, Murex, Aladdin preferred. Markit EDM, TLM/Smartstream, Tri-Resolve, Bloomberg, FX Connect, DRMS, GTSS, DTCC, MarkIt Wire, and Acadia Soft is a plus
  • Fluency in Japanese and English, spoken and written required
