The Education and Training Manager plays a key role in building capability across MetLife’s HSECi team, supporting our partnership with Hostplus to deliver a market‑first service experience for members. Guided by our purpose — always with you, building a more confident future — and our New Frontier strategy, this role focuses on equipping employees with the skills, knowledge and ways of working required to deliver high‑quality, compliant and efficient member outcomes.

You will design, deliver and continuously improve practical learning solutions, leveraging digital and AI‑enabled tools (where appropriate) to enhance learning effectiveness, productivity and engagement in line with MetLife‑approved technologies and governance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and maintain practical training programs aligned to HSECi service models, operational priorities and regulatory requirements.
  • Deliver and facilitate face‑to‑face, virtual and digital learning solutions, including induction, refresher and upskilling programs.
  • Develop and refresh learning materials (e‑learning, SOPs, guides, assessments and facilitator content) to reflect process, system and policy changes.
  • Apply and promote responsible use of MetLife‑approved AI and digital tools (including Microsoft 365 Copilot) to enhance learning outcomes and efficiency.
  • Monitor and improve training effectiveness using participation data, feedback, quality insights and performance outcomes.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in learning and development, with a strong focus on training design and delivery.
  • Proven instructional design and facilitation capability across in‑person, virtual and digital learning environments.
  • Practical experience using digital learning platforms and tools, with applied experience using AI tools to support work outputs.
  • Strong judgement, attention to quality and ability to operate effectively in regulated environments.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and prioritisation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualifications in Education, Learning and Development or a related discipline.
  • Certifications in instructional design or digital learning tools.
  • Experience supporting learning in insurance, superannuation or financial services environments.
  • Exposure to change, transformation or capability uplift programs within operational teams.
