Role Value Proposition:

This role will support MetLife’s Operational Resilience program, focusing on planning and recovery of internal critical processes and the ability to continue end-to-end delivery of our most important customer-facing business services during business disruptions. This position will work closely with key business stakeholders across all lines of business to maintain Business Continuity for the enterprise. The position will lead the coordination of Business Impact Assessments (BIA), update of BC Plans (BCP), organizing testing and exercises, and other BC-related responsibilities.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 Advise, partner, and implement enterprise-wide Operational Resilience initiatives with business stakeholders across the US and LatAm regions. Responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Partner and engage with business stakeholders to execute annual Business Continuity book of work activities, including business impact assessments, business continuity plan development and updates, quality assurance reviews, and metrics and reporting
  • Assist with the implementation of dependency mapping of MetLife’s critical business services
  • Coordinate and drive testing and exercise of business continuity plans with business stakeholders
  • Review and challenge testing and exercise outcomes to identify gaps, risks, and vulnerabilities for remediation
  • Deliver and support training to business continuity stakeholders
  • Lead workshops/meetings with business stakeholders for Critical Business Service validations
  • Partner with the crisis management team to provide support during large-scale incidents
  • Build strong working relationships and drive collaboration with business stakeholders across the region, and provide input to support the continuous improvement of the Operational Resilience program
  • Collaborate with other Global Resilience disciplines such as Technology Resilience, Third Party Risk, and Crisis Management

 

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of demonstrated experience in Business Continuity/Operational Resilience, preferably in the insurance or financial services industries
  • Subject matter expert in the Business Continuity lifecycle and/or resilience activities
  • Understanding or experience with third-party risk and/or resilience assessment
  • Experience with Business Continuity Management Systems (e.g., FusionRM, ServiceNow)
  • Demonstrates sound judgment under pressure and adaptive problem-solving
  • Working proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 (i.e., Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills to foster a collaborative work environment
  • Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize and multi-task

 

Preferred:

  • DRII, BCI certification preferred, but not required
  • Understanding of Critical or Important Business Service concepts
  • Familiarity with ISO 22301, FFIEC, and other business continuity standards
  • Knowledge of regulatory and resilience requirements (e.g., NYDFS, DORA, CBI)

Location Expectation: This is a hybrid role requiring a minimum of 3 days per week in office.
The expected salary range for this position is $110,000 - $150,000. This role may also be eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation. All incentives and benefits are subject to the applicable plan terms.
