This role is critical to maintaining compliance with US GAAP, regulatory requirements, and supporting MetLife’s commitment to financial integrity and transparency.

Guided by our purpose – always with you building a more confident future – and our New Frontier strategy focused on stronger growth, attractive returns, and all-weather performance, this is an exciting opportunity to work on complex derivative transactions, contribute to high-impact financial disclosures, and collaborate with global cross-functional teams. The role offers strong exposure to regulatory reporting (10Q/10K, statutory and Federal Reserve filings) and the ability to drive process improvements in a highly controlled environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation and review of derivative accounting entries, reconciliations, and US GAAP quarterly and annual disclosures (10Q/10K footnotes).
• Create efficient reporting processes and documentation to ensure compliance, audit readiness, and consistency in financial reporting.
• Oversee data integrity and reporting accuracy related to derivative instruments across systems and stakeholders.
• Manage relationships with internal stakeholders (Investments, CAR) and external auditors to support timely and accurate reporting.
• Develop and enhance internal controls and procedures to improve quality, reliability, and compliance of accounting processes.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment, issue resolution, and continuous improvement of reporting processes.

Required Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting or Finance, applying strong technical accounting knowledge to complex derivative transactions and financial reporting.
• Proven ability to analyze complex accounting issues, work independently in evolving environments, and implement best practices.
• Experience working in results-oriented environments with a strong focus on accuracy, quality, and continuous improvement.
• Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in accounting and/or financial reporting, ideally with exposure to derivative instruments or investments.
• CPA, MBA, or other advanced degree, supporting advanced technical accounting and reporting capabilities.
• Experience driving process improvements and implementing changes in controlled, regulated environments.
• Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and commitment to financial accuracy and transparency.
