The Team You Will Join 

RIS UK Reinsurance is part of MetLife’s Retirement & Income Solutions (RIS) team in the US Business. UK Reinsurance provides longevity and asset reinsurance solutions to UK insurers and pension schemes.

The Opportunity 

The successful candidate will report to the Assistant Vice President of UK Reinsurance Administration. The role will be integral for all day-to-day administrative tasks related to UK Reinsurance contracts, and will be the primary point of contact for coordination, management and maintenance of the team’s controls framework.

In addition to working directly with our clients, you’ll collaborate closely with our partners in Pricing, Actuarial, Accounting, Finance, Investments, IT, Legal, Compliance, Risk and Audit in an environment where every contribution is respected, and every perspective is heard.

How You’ll Help Us Build a Confident Future (Key Responsibilities)

  • Support day-to-day administrative functions for MetLife’s UK Reinsurance business, including, but not limited to: contract onboarding, processing accounting entries, foreign currency conversion, and coordinating reporting to partner teams internally
  • Support the monthly or quarterly settlement calculation, reconciliation & payment process, interacting with clients while providing exceptional service
  • Manage controls review calendar and coordinate with leadership and partner teams to ensure required reviews are up to date
  • Manage policy and procedural documentation reviews, updates and recertifications
  • Coordinate with internal Risk Partner teams on Audit, Compliance and Risk reviews 
  • Work with functional Partner teams to support development of new controls as needs arise
  • Manage MetLife and client systems access reviews for UK Reinsurance to ensure compliance with access management and data privacy policies
  • Manage vendor contract compliance timeline and deliverables
  • Perform other duties as assigned or required

 

What You Need to Succeed (Required Qualifications)

  • 2-4 years of relevant work experience 
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Takes initiative, strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to learn quickly, work independently and manage time effectively 
  • Strong customer service skills/customer centricity
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Comfortable with, and able to work effectively and deliver results in unclear, uncertain, or new situations

 

What Can Give You an Edge (Additional Skills)

  • Degree in Business, Accounting or Finance
  • Strong and demonstrable quantitative skills and experience
  • Data operations processing and management experience
  • Knowledge of reinsurance business and/or insurance company operations
  • Knowledge of defined benefit pensions and/or pension risk transfer
  • Experience working with Microsoft Power Automate, Adobe Workfront, Microsoft Visio

 


The salary range for applicants for this position is $75,000 - $105,000 Base Salary + Annual Bonus.
