The LTD Case Specialist is responsible for managing assigned caseload, updating claim records, following plans, providing exemplary customer service in a timely and accurate manner by processing group disability income insurance claims in a timely and accurate manner. 


Success in this role requires strong customer skills and organization. The LTD Case Specialist is responsible for managing a caseload of LTD claims along with evaluating Claimant eligibility via information received from Claimant, Attending Physician and Employer. 

Job Location: Must be commutable distance to MetLife Office - San Juan, Puerto Rico 


In office once a month for office meetings



Principal Responsibilities:

  • Manages assigned caseload of long-term disability (LTD) claims. 
  • Determines whether to suspend, terminate, or pay claims. 
  • Updates current claims records (inputs data). 
  • Evaluates claimant eligibility via information received from claimant, attending physician, and employer. 
  • Follows plans to closure. 
  • Follows established claim policies and practices to resolve claims and issues. 
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or required. 

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:  None.

 

Job Requirements 

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent 
  • 1+ years customer service experience 


 Preferred Qualifications:

  • Excellent communications skills 
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask 
  • Ability to think abstractly 
  • Keyboarding skills 
  • Spanish Bilingual Preferred

 

 

The expected salary range for this position is $41,600 - $45,000. This role may also be eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation. All incentives and benefits are subject to the applicable plan terms.
