The Service Financials team within the Technology Business Management Office (TBMO) enables transparency and accountability in IT spending through a structured chargeback model tied to our Service Catalog. By aligning financials with industry-standard taxonomy and benchmarking practices, the team empowers business leaders to make informed, strategic decisions that maximize the value of IT investments.


Location:  Must live within a commutable distance of the Cary, NC, office 


Hybrid in office 3 days a week


Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Act as the primary point of contact for relationship managers, ensuring alignment between service delivery, financial performance, and business priorities.
  • Lead annual and multi-year planning cycles, integrating service mix, budgets, and strategic objectives while providing accurate forecasts to Finance and IT Leadership.
  • Conduct monthly financial review meetings and prepare weekly trending reports to maintain transparency, enable proactive decision-making, and ensure accurate forecasting.
  • Analyze spending trends and cost drivers, identifying optimization opportunities and ensuring compliance with governance and financial standards.
  • Drive benchmarking initiatives for internally and externally delivered services, interpreting data to inform service delivery improvements and investment decisions.
  • Develop and maintain tiered service offerings and value measurement frameworks, promoting standardization and best practices across service management processes.
  • Collaborate with CFO partners, Service Owners, and cross-functional teams to align funding strategies, support M&A activities, and explore innovative TBM solutions.
  • Prepare executive-level materials that simplify complex financial and operational insights for senior leadership.
  • Identify operational data gaps and implement cross-functional resolutions, enhancing processes and controls for improved transparency and tax benefit optimization.
  • Factor global operational considerations into business decisions, including regulatory, cultural, and logistical issues when conducting business in other countries.
  • Identify key stakeholders, roles, and responsibilities to ensure clarity in program and service delivery governance.
  • Consult on application-related issues and system conversions/retirements, bridging business and IT perspectives for seamless transitions.
  • Maintain accurate service and financial records to support transparency and tax benefit optimization.
  • Provide guidance and coaching to junior team members, fostering knowledge sharing, continuous improvement, and organizational capability building.

    Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

 

Required: 

  • 10+ years of experience in financial reporting within public or private sector
  • 8+ years of experience in Technology Business Management (TBM), with deep understanding of TBM taxonomy and its application across technology domains such as application development, infrastructure engineering, and operational support.
  • Strong background in accounting and financial reporting
  • BA/BS in Finance, Accounting, or related field
  • Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and project management skills
  • Ability to communicate complex financial concepts clearly
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines consistently
  • Advanced Microsoft Suite skills particularly in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Proficiency in financial reporting systems
  • Experience supporting financial reporting and disclosure requirements
  • Knowledge & experience in TBM Taxonomy

 

Preferred:

  • Financial modeling experience
  • Microsoft suit skills (particularly Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Apptio Platform experience
  • Exposure SAFe/Agile methodologies
Location Expectation: This is a hybrid role requiring a minimum of 3 days per week in office.
The expected salary range for this position is $130,000 - $140,000. This role may also be eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation. All incentives and benefits are subject to the applicable plan terms.
