Role Value Proposition:

MetLife is seeking a highly skilled and motivated IAM engineer to join our Identity Management team. This role will focus on designing, developing, and maintaining identity governance solutions using SailPoint IdentityIQ. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Java and Beanshell development and experience building custom workflows, rules, reports, plugins, and connectors within the SailPoint ecosystem. 
 
Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in executing the strategy and design of MetLife’s Identity Management program. 
  • Act as a liaison between business stakeholders, technical teams, and security experts to lead the execution of identity programs.
  • Design, implement, and maintain identity lifecycle processes using SailPoint IdentityIQ.
  • Develop custom rules, reports, and workflows to meet business requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate IAM solutions with enterprise systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex IAM issues, ensuring high availability and performance.
  • Participate in design reviews, code reviews, security assessments, and compliance audits.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of IAM processes, standards, and documentation.


Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s in information technology, Computer Science, Security, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in Identity and Access Management with expertise in SailPoint IIQ.
  • Strong understanding of Identity and Access Management principles and technologies (SailPoint IIQ, RBAC/ABAC, LDAP/AD).
  • Strong proficiency in development, including object-oriented design.
  • Hands-on experience developing custom rules, email templates, reports, connectors, and workflows.
  • Familiarity with identity governance concepts such as provisioning, certification, role-based access control, and policy enforcement.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.


Preferred:

  • SailPoint IdentityIQ Engineer/Architect certifications
  • Experience with REST/SOAP APIs, LDAP, Active Directory, and database technologies (e.g. SQL, Oracle).
  • Mentor/ lead other junior members in the team.
  • Experience with developing SailPoint plugins is a plus.
  • Experience with DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Azure DevOps).
  • Knowledge of cloud IAM (e.g., Azure AD, AWS IAM) is a plus.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.

The expected salary range for this position is $120,000 to $158,400. This role may also be eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation. All incentives and benefits are subject to the applicable plan terms.
