The Team


The position sits within the newly consolidated Data and Analytics (D&A) organization supporting MetLife's U.S. Business. U.S. D&A assists all business lines of MetLife’s U.S. business (about 2/3 of MetLife Global by earnings) with everything related to data, analytics, and data science, from data infrastructure, data governance, data engineering, data modeling, and data analysis to business intelligence, data science, and AI. 

 

The Role


The Manager – Development Program will design, establish, and manage skill set communities and data communities by data domain, organize training programs, lead cultural transformation initiatives, and manage U.S. D&A rebranding and brand management inside of MetLife U.S. assist in the rebranding effort which will help in building a more confident future for the D&A organization by improving visibility, collaboration, and alignment with USB goals. This team will drive awareness and engagement across our global data and analytic teams and engage in organizational initiatives. Enhancing our internal brand and visibility within GTO and the rest of the company. They will also assist community technical experts with peer influencing and mentoring and creating practice standards -positioning the D&A team as thought leaders in the industry.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Design and Manage Skill Set Communities and Data Communities: Design technical skill set affinities throughout the organization, organize training, sharing, and other meetings or events. Assist community technical experts with peer influencing and mentoring. Create practice standards.
  • Assist Data Owners and Data Stewards: Establish data communities by data domain, enroll people in the community, plan events, ensure engagement and sharing.
  • Design and Execute Training Programs: Create and run programs around business knowledge, business communication, influencing, etc., and technical cross-training programs for various skill sets within D&A.
  • Lead Cultural Transformation Initiatives: Lead the cultural shift from traditional technology-focused data team to a business-outcome-driven mindset. Develop training, redesign performance metrics, and create other tools to increase D&A business impact and stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Manage U.S. D&A Rebranding and Brand Management: Organize events, support presentations at various staff and other meetings, assure our presence at other events, and generally highlight the positive impact of D&A.
  • Help design and run internship programs and longer programs for junior talent.
  • Job family design: In collaboration with HR and D&A technical experts, redesign D&A job families. Broaden several families, create cross-training programs and do change management.


Required Skills: 

  • 5+ years of experience in developing and implementing communication and engagement plans, focusing on large meetings for all employees, and creating content for various topics across multiple channels and platforms.
  • Strategic thinker who understands how to connect ideas with a passion for using storytelling to create experiences that drive engagement and participation.
  • Experience with and passion for community organization and event planning.
  • Prior successful creation and management of technical communities around analytical skillsets.
  • Demonstrated expertise in improving the internal brand of a Data and Analytics group inside a large organization.
  • Versatile skill set in areas such as stakeholder management, communications, and organizational change management.
  • Experience with data visualization to tell a story to executives, data analytics dashboards, PowerPoint, and Excel.

 

Preferred Skills: 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred in HR, Learning & Development, editorial writing, communications, events, PR, marketing, or a related field.


Location

  • This position is hybrid and open to locations at the MetLife offices in NY, NY or Cary, NC.

The salary range for applicants for this position is $110,000 - $158,400.
