The Assistant Collaboration Engineer is a hands-on, entry-level technical role supporting the design, implementation, and day-to-day operation of enterprise collaboration and voice solutions. This position focuses on Microsoft Teams, Cisco Webex, and enterprise voice platforms, helping ensure high availability, performance, and a strong end-user experience. This role serves as a developing technical contributor on the collaboration services team, working under the guidance of senior engineers and architects. The Assistant Collaboration Engineer handles routine configuration, monitoring, and support tasks, assists with larger deployments, and builds the platform expertise needed to grow into more senior technical roles. This is a growth-focused position with structured mentorship and a clear development path.
Support the configuration, deployment, and day-to-day operation of enterprise collaboration and voice solutions, including Microsoft Teams, Cisco Webex, and associated video conferencing platforms.
Assist in creating and maintaining collaboration and voice configurations, documentation, and operational standards that support enterprise calling, meetings, and real-time communications services.
Monitor the technical health, performance, and availability of collaboration platforms, responding to routine incidents and escalating complex issues, call quality problems, and service disruptions to senior engineers.
Perform assigned collaboration and voice service tasks, including standard platform configurations, user provisioning, moves/adds/changes, and basic integrations under the direction of senior team members.
Coordinate with team members across architecture, networking, security, and support to help deliver effective collaboration and voice solutions, building cross-functional relationships and technical knowledge along the way.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 1–3 years of experience supporting IT, collaboration, voice, or end-user technology environments (internships and hands-on lab/coursework experience considered).
- Working knowledge of or hands-on exposure to Microsoft Teams and/or other collaboration and voice technologies.
- Familiarity with enterprise telephony or voice concepts, such as call routing, PSTN connectivity, or basic troubleshooting.
- Exposure to cloud-based collaboration solutions and interest in how they integrate with enterprise networking, security, and identity systems.
- Familiarity with AI-enabled collaboration features such as meeting intelligence, transcription, analytics, automation, or intelligent assistants.
- Exposure to Microsoft Azure or other cloud platforms supporting collaboration services.
- Scripting or automation experience (e.g., PowerShell, Power Automate, Power Apps) used to support collaboration or voice administration.
- Relevant certifications or coursework (e.g., Microsoft Teams, Cisco Collaboration, networking, or voice-related certifications), or active progress toward them.
The expected salary range for this position is $70,000 - $89,000. This role may also be eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation and stock-based long-term incentives. All incentives and benefits are subject to the applicable plan terms.
