The Business Procedures Consultant will play an integral role in day-to-day administration of the Retirement & Income Solutions (RIS) UK Reinsurance business.  

The successful candidate will report to the Assistant Vice President of UK Reinsurance Administration, and will support the UK Reinsurance Business administration. The role will work closely with our UK clients and RIS business and functional partners, including Pricing, Actuarial, Accounting, Investments, IT, Legal, Compliance, Risk and Finance.

 Key Responsibilities: 

  • Conduct day-to-day administrative functions including, but not limited to: foreign currency conversion, processing accounting entries, and coordinating reporting to partner teams internally
  • Support the monthly or quarterly settlement reconciliation & payment process, including interacting with clients while providing exceptional service
  • Proactively develop a deep understanding of the business context, connecting processes, data inputs, and operational tasks
  • Review and test system enhancements and onboarding of policy data to validate accuracy and functionality, identify issues, and ensure quality standards are met
  • Provide project management support and analytical subject matter expertise for system enhancements and policy data onboarding for UK Reinsurance recordkeeping system
  • Support management of vendor meetings by organizing agenda topics, aligning stakeholders, tracking action items and actively participating in discussions to achieve desired outcomes
  • Proactively help to track dependencies, anticipate risks, and follow up on outstanding deliverables to keep initiatives on schedule
  • Perform other duties as assigned or required 

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

Required:

  • 2-4 years of relevant work experience
  • Project management experience with a proactive approach
  • Strong quantitative skills
  • Experience with structured data and strong understanding of relational data
  • Demonstrated experience querying and reporting on data in Microsoft Excel and other tools, including but not limited to strong competency with VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, Power Query, PowerBI, etc.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong customer service skills/customer centricity
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and manage time effectively in order to meet client and project deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint

Preferred: 

  • Degree in Business, Accounting or Finance
  • Knowledge of reinsurance business
  • Knowledge of defined benefit pensions and/or pension risk transfer
  • Knowledge of insurance company operations
Location Expectation: This is a hybrid role requiring a minimum of 3 days per week in office.
The expected salary range for this position is $74,500 - $99,300. This role may also be eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation. All incentives and benefits are subject to the applicable plan terms.
