The role will be within the MetLife Insurance Investments division at MetLife. 

 

This is an entry level position for individuals who have just graduated university. The individual will support the Pension & Investment Manager Oversight team within the MetLife Insurance Investments division at MetLife. The position will support the team in analysis and reporting for MetLife's US and International separate account investment managers that are utilized for various insurance products. Key aspects of the role include the assessment and recommendation of third-party asset managers to support the internal lines of businesses at MetLife.

 

The Pension & Investment Manager Oversight is responsible for the oversight of 953 funds with 166 managers which accounts for $103 billion in AUM. 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Support team members in coordination, preparation, and generation of materials related to fund management oversight and evaluation. Confirm and verify data and information. This involves thorough and in-depth reviews of fund information to ensure data is presented accurately and consistently to internal and external parties.
  • Process and compile data, provide accurate reporting for internal monitoring purposes including manager positions, fund information and performance attribution.
  • Utilize investment related software to aid in the evaluation of managers and in the formulation of recommendations.
  • Assist with the development of monitoring tools, processes, and other operating arrangements.
  • Assist with creation of internal dashboards of manager / fund exposures by investment styles (passive / active), sectors (equities, fixed income, balanced, alternatives, etc.) and mandates.

 

Required Qualifications

  • BA or BS in Economics, Finance, Statistics, or related fields is required
  • Knowledge or at least a strong interest in investment funds/financial industry
  • Strong quantitative, verbal, and written skills
  • Strong Excel (preferable experience with VBA), PowerPoint, and Power BI skills.
  • Strong AI implementation abilities
  • Organized, detail-oriented and able to prioritize multiple projects
  • Ability to work effectively with others across multiple departments, teams, and levels

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • 0-2 years of experience is preferred
  • Familiarity with investment analytics a plus (e.g. Bloomberg, BondEdge, eVestment, Morningstar)

Location Expectation: This is a hybrid role requiring a minimum of 3 days per week in office.
The expected salary range for this position is $95,900 - $97,900. This role may also be eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation. All incentives and benefits are subject to the applicable plan terms.
