The Senior Enterprise Engineer for the Container Platform Technologies team is responsible for advancing cloud-native container platform technologies that support MetLife’s on‑premises and regulatory system strategy across multiple countries globally. Guided by our purpose – always with you building a more confident future – and our New Frontier strategy focused on stronger growth, attractive returns and all-weather performance, this is an exciting opportunity to manage, design, drive standardization, and operate global container platform fleets supporting critical business workloads within a 24/7 DevOps agile environment, improving resilience, scalability, and automation through Site Reliability Engineering and Infrastructure as Code practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, standardization, and global operation of enterprise OpenShift and Kubernetes platforms.
- Create automation and self‑service capabilities using Infrastructure as Code.
- Oversee installation, upgrades, patching, monitoring, and lifecycle management of the container platform ecosystem.
- Manage platform reliability, incident response, root cause analysis, and managed service provider service levels.
- Develop partnerships with global technology teams, vendors, and industry partners.
- Coordinate CI/CD tooling, security patching, production operations, and on‑call rotations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a technology-related field or equivalent experience supporting distributed systems.
- 5+ years of overall related experience.
- Experience administering OpenShift, Kubernetes distributions, container runtimes, and Linux/UNIX platforms.
- Automation‑first mindset with CI/CD tooling and scripting experience (Python, Bash).
- Strong collaboration, leadership, mentoring, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Suggested 5 years of experience in supporting cloud‑native or distributed platforms.
- Experience with Azure DevOps, Git, Tekton, ArgoCD, and related tooling.
- Strong understanding of Site Reliability Engineering and observability practices.
- Demonstrated continuous learning mindset and enterprise‑level influence.
