The Insurance Asset Management Team executes investment strategies for the MetLife general account, helping drive growth in MetLife Investment Management's (MIM) third-party insurance client channel, as well as working with internal teams to develop liability solutions for diverse client segments.

 

This high impact executive assistant position is responsible for providing an outstanding level of administrative expertise to support the Sr. Managing Director of the Insurance Asset Management Group and the IAM Team. The position will also be responsible for providing ad hoc support across the business as needed.

This position requires attention to detail, flexibility and the ability to prioritize workload and multi-task in an environment that requires frequent change. This individual must be able to work independently with minimal supervision and demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written. The individual is expected to maintain confidentiality and exhibit a high level of discretion and professionalism.

 

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Manage calendar schedules and coordinate meetings for the Sr. Managing Director as well as individual team members, and members of the overall business on an ad hoc basis.
  • Manage domestic as well as complex international travel arrangements and process expense reports; reconcile and track monthly credit card charges and expenditures in a timely manner.
  • Manage administrative office processes, including onboarding new hires, space assignments and processing access rights for new hires and team, ordering of office supplies, and managing catering requests.
  • Provide support for and direction to appropriate Helpdesk or other internal resources for any IT- related issues.
  • Organize electronic documents and communications that may require confidential treatment. Assist with production and coordination of meeting briefs, presentations, updates, and reports that may require confidential treatment.
  • Coordinate multiple internal and external meetings involving senior leaders in the company as well external stakeholders and third parties requiring coordination of time zones.

 

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

Required:

  • 4+ years of experience
  • Strong PC skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and SharePoint, and internet skills
  • Strong Excel skills for creating and working with spreadsheets, data and basic analytics
  • Ability to work in fast paced environment and ability to recognize opportunities to improve and stream-line processes
  • Excellent organizational, time management skills, written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be able to multi-task with a keen eye to detail and handle heavy flow of incoming and outgoing requests for meetings or information

Preferred:

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree
  • Insurance and Financial Services experience preferred
  • Self-starter: ability to independently anticipate needs, look ahead, plan for contingencies, manage concurrent tasks, prioritize tasks and follow-up
  • Superb inter-personal skills, demonstrating an ease with interacting professionally – at senior levels - within and across functional teams
  • Flexibility to move between competing priorities as needed/directed and strong customer-centricity skills
  • Calendar/schedule management and discretion in handling confidential materials/information
