The Team You Will Join

Step into a role where your expertise makes a real impact. At MetLife Investment Management (MIM), our Private Capital team is redefining strategies beyond traditional markets. You’ll work with corporate private credit, infrastructure debt, private asset-based finance, residential credit and alternative strategies crafting portfolios that create long-term value for our investors. We take a disciplined approach to sourcing and structuring investments, building them for the future. Work with a team that thrives on collaboration to create customized solutions for our clients. If you’re ready to challenge yourself and grow your career, this is where you belong.

The Opportunity

The Analyst is responsible for building a strong knowledge base in both the Institutional Single-Family Rental (SFR) debt and equity asset class and the Low-Income Tax Credit (LIHTC) asset class.  This position is primarily needed to support MetLife Investment Managements (MIMs) interest in continuing to grow its exposure in SFR debt opportunities and to commercialize the platform for third party institutional investor mandates.  Secondarily, the position will support MIM's interest in growing its exposure in LIHTC equity investments.  This is an exciting opportunity to work on growing and commercializing platforms while supporting the portfolio management of existing SFR debt/equity investments as well as a LIHTC equity portfolio.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with collecting, organizing, and reviewing monthly and quarterly reporting for SFR and LIHTC portfolios, including basic performance metrics and covenant monitoring.
  • Support day-to-day loan servicing activities such as payment invoices, reviewing waterfall statements, and processing reserve release and payoff requests in coordination with third-party servicers.
  • Help support new SFR investments by reviewing data tapes, populating underwriting and loan sizing models, preparing deal summaries, and assisting with due diligence and closing process.
  • Coordinate with internal teams (legal, accounting) and external parties (borrowers, fund sponsors, servicers) to track information requests and ensure timely follow-ups.
  • Perform ad hoc analyses and support special projects, including internal audit requests, portfolio data reviews, LIHTC reporting updates, and responses to internal and external inquiries.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, real estate, or a related field.
  • 0-2 years of relevant experience (internships are acceptable).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to organize information clearly and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (basic financial analysis, data organization), PowerPoint, and Word; ability to learn and follow financial models and reporting frameworks.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, prioritize effectively, and quickly learn new processes in a fast-paced environment.
  • High attention to detail, intellectual curiosity, and a pro-active, team-oriented mindset.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience or internship in commercial real estate lending, SFR lending, asset management, or finance-related roles.
  • Exposure to financial underwriting, loan servicing, portfolio reporting, or real estate operating metrics.
