The Opportunity 

The Actuarial Analyst supports the GAAP valuation and reporting of Retail Deferred Annuities, a product line that is part of U.S. business. Guided by our purpose – always with you, building a more confident future – and our New Frontier strategy focused on stronger growth, attractive returns, and all-weather performance, this is an exciting opportunity to develop expertise in annuity valuation, financial reporting, and actuarial modeling.

In this role, you will gain exposure to one of MetLife's largest and most complex product lines, working closely with finance, risk management, and actuarial teams. You will contribute to key reporting processes, support strategic initiatives, and help drive innovation through process.

Key Responsibilities

·  *Calculate, reconcile and analyze the reasonableness of various monthly reserve items.

· *Determine reserve sensitivities for quarterly market risk disclosures and other reports.

· *Test model updates and other changes to production systems as needed

· *Take lead in streamlining existing procedures, incorporating AI tools, reducing spreadsheet complexity along with documenting changes.

· *Work with associates in other departments and external audit to explain procedures and results, solve problems and enhance processes.

Required Qualifications

*Actuarial Science student with at least 75% of coursework completed.

*Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

*Effective written and verbal communication skills in English.

*Ability to adapt to a dynamic and evolving environment while demonstrating strategic thinking and intellectual curiosity.

Preferred Qualifications 

*Experience with Excel, Alteryx y/o Power BI, AI or programing languages.

*At least one year of professional work experience. 

*Completion of the Personal Insurance (Actuarial I/Seguros Personales) course is strongly preferred.
