The Opportunity

The LTD Senior Completion Specialist is responsible for providing timely, accurate, and high-quality internal support to group disability income insurance claims across the United States. Guided by our purpose – always with you building a more confident future – and our New Frontier strategy focused on stronger growth, attractive returns and all-weather performance, this is an exciting opportunity to help create positive experiences for MetLife customers by supporting the claim adjudication process, verifying coverage, evaluating claimant eligibility, and helping ensure claims are processed efficiently and accurately.


Key Responsibilities
  • Lead initial claim setup support by assisting the claim adjudication team in accordance with plan provisions, identifying potential recurrent claims, and verifying coverage based on the claim receipt date.
  • Create accurate claim records by inputting data and evaluating claimant eligibility using information received from claimants, physicians, and employers.
  • Oversee claim review activities by following established claim policies and practices to help identify potential claim issues and ensure quality outcomes.
  • Manage claim details and follow-up activities, including reviewing claim information and making necessary outbound calls as needed.
  • Develop a strong understanding of internal claim processes, system requirements, and quality standards to support efficient and accurate claim handling.
  • Coordinate related duties and support activities as assigned or required to help meet business needs and customer expectations.

Required Qualifications
  • Must be in a commutable distance from Oriskany, NY or Aurora, IL
  • High school diploma or equivalent education required to support accurate claim intake, documentation, and eligibility review activities.
  • Strong computer skills and ability to use internal claim systems, tools, and platforms to input data, review claim information, and support timely processing.
  • Critical thinking, written communication, and verbal communication skills to analyze information, investigate claim details, and clearly document or share findings.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and quality-focused work style with the ability to prioritize tasks and support consistent, accurate outcomes.

 


Preferred Qualifications
  • 2+ years relevant business experience
  • Basic knowledge of STD, LTD, group disability, workers compensation, ERISA, social security, and state laws

 

The expected salary range for this position is $41,600 - $61,000. This role may also be eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation and stock-based long-term incentives. All incentives and benefits are subject to the applicable plan terms.
