The Opportunity
The PlanSmart Data Analyst is responsible for supporting a defined book of business, validating and transforming data, and overseeing data workflows to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements related to conversion and portability notifications for MetLife group customers. This role is critical in enabling timely and accurate participant outreach by consolidating data from multiple sources into clear, usable outputs.


The position also serves as a key liaison across internal partners, ensuring data integrity, resolving issues, and supporting continuous process improvements that enhance operational efficiency and customer experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage day-to-day processing, inbox traffic, file audits, data reconciliation, and end-of-day protocols.
  • Review incoming files to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to regulatory compliance.
  • Create and maintain file configuration specifications to onboard and implement new customers.
  • Generate reporting outputs that directly trigger outreach requests for PlanSmart Specialists.
  • Identify operational gaps to drive continuous system, process, and workflow scalability enhancements.
  • Serve as a workflow Subject Matter Expert (SME) while partnering with internal stakeholders to resolve data discrepancies.

Required Qualifications
  • Experience in data analysis, data processing, or operational reporting
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., formulas, lookups, data manipulation)
  • Ability to analyze and interpret complex datasets with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Effective problem-solving skills with a continuous improvement mindset
  • Comfortable navigating multiple systems, tools, and databases simultaneously
  • Apply critical thinking to analyze data, assess impacts, and make informed decisions to resolve problems and improve workflows

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • Experience working with large datasets and automated workflows (e.g., Power Automate, reporting tools)
  • Experience supporting operational or process improvement initiatives
  • Strong project coordination skills with the ability to manage timelines and deliverables
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate with leadership
  • Ability to present data insights and recommendations in a clear, business-friendly format

Location Expectation: This is a hybrid role requiring a minimum of 3 days per week in office.

 

The expected salary range for this position is $54,100 - $72,100. This role may also be eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation and stock-based long-term incentives. All incentives and benefits are subject to the applicable plan terms.
