Compliance Risk Management (CRM) delivers a compliance risk framework that enables the businesses and functions to comply with applicable internal and external rules and regulations and maintain risk levels within MetLife’s risk appetite. CRM provides constructive challenge to the businesses and functions, partnering closely with them to implement strong processes and effective controls, as well as, to foster and embed a culture of compliance.

This role is an individual contributor supporting the Head of RIS Compliance and the RIS Compliance team in their daily support of the RIS business and operations teams. This individual will be part of a team that provides compliance coverage to the growing RIS lines of business and support to operational functions, working closely and collaboratively across RIS to identify compliance risks, implement controls to effectively manage risk, and adapt to new and/or changing laws, rules or regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the creation and socialization of the annual Compliance Testing and Monitoring Plan
  • Undertake monitoring and testing of key controls as prescribed by the annual Testing and Monitoring plan
  • Perform various compliance monitoring and surveillance activities (e.g., Regulatory Change Management, Conflicts of Interest, Complaints)
  • Document and communicate the results of testing and monitoring activities
  • Review existing Compliance policies and procedures and make enhancements to strengthen as needed.
  • Assist business with the implementation of new Compliance policies and procedures and completion of global policy gap assessments
  • Assist business with assessment of compliance risks and mitigants through active participation in Non-Financial Risk Assessments
  • Preparation of compliance metrics and materials for key stakeholders and senior leadership
  • Assist with distribution and tracking of required compliance certifications

 

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

  • 1-3 years relevant experience in financial service industry or insurance, with compliance, legal, risk management, operations, and/or internal audit experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Copilot, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Leverage technology and demonstrated experience working with metrics, dashboards and trend analysis to identify risk themes and inform decision-making  
  • Must be a dedicated, self-motivated individual with an ability to work both independently and in a team environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to prepare presentations for compliance leadership
  • Excellent interpersonal skills required to develop partnerships and relationships throughout the organization
  • Brings a strong continuous learning mindset, actively seeking to expand knowledge, collaborate with stakeholders/peers, and adapt to regulatory and business change.

   

Location Expectation: This is a hybrid role requiring a minimum of 3 days per week in office.
The expected salary range for this position is $54,100 - $72,100. This role may also be eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation. All incentives and benefits are subject to the applicable plan terms.
