POSITION OBJECTIVE:

To develop and control Underwriting process in order to contribute for quality customer service according to the high standards of work in the Department and train employees about Company’s established standards and procedures in the Operation area. Manages and develops team capable to answer customer demands and enhance customer loyalty.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

•            Participate/ Lead existing and new company projects. Preparation of implementation, planning of activities, installation schedules, organization of working group(s) meetings, etc

•            Business Analyses: actively inputting entries and commentaries for business processes

•            System Analyses: decision making regarding key system's interoperation

•            Ensure consistency of data and transaction in IT systems. Provide correction of data or transactions according to approved company standards as well as new controls implementation

•            Mandatory reporting and activities common for Operation functions (incl. OPS Global scorecards, Data Control Report & Certification, FLOD, CRS, FATCA, AML, BCP, RCSA, CBPP / Aging etc.)

•            Lead NBUW internal audit actions (incl. preparation phase)  

•            Recruit, train, manage and develop staff as are required to carry out the functions within area of responsibility

•            Identify and develop talents, assure succession planning to maintain business continuity 

•            Closely monitor capacity planning, review production objectives, anticipated peak production periods and effect plans to meet regular workflow demands and contingencies

•            Ensure an effective, professional and courteous service is provided to customers (internal & external), intermediaries, vendors

•            Develop procedures, policies, standards, processes, and customer forms for the department

•            Develop information regarding evidence of insurability, determine its adequacy and carefully, adequately and thoroughly examine the available information to determine insurance terms and accept insurance risk

•            Make risk assessment of medical cases – based on the medical advisors consultations and the underwriting manual

•            Underwrites standard and complex Life and PA policies and Credit Life applications whenever required by the workflow in the department

•            Prepare and send to agencies requirements for additional and medical information - examinations, tests, APS, exclusion clauses and loadings

•            Request for approval of cases (Life, PA, Credit Life) beyond the local limit from the RO and reinsurers

•            Monitor closely the cooperation with contracted medical clinics and medical advisors and prepare monthly invoices

•            Prepare payment forms for deposit refund and letters to clients in case of postponed, declined, withdrawn or incomplete application or not taken policy

•            Prepare Monthly, Quarterly Underwriting Report, TAT report and other reporting related to underwriting on request

•            Evaluate special claim cases by clients and insurance advisors

•            Evaluate cases of Group contracts (Group Life, Credit Life)

•            Train Junior Administrative Assistants of Sales Offices on basic underwriting rules and processing of insurance applications

•            Track Department work and response time

•            Follow up the medical expenses

•            Follow up the % of non-productive business

•            Participate in product development and implementation

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Professional qualifications:

•            University degree, in economics/ insurance would be an advantage;

•            Minimum 2 years experience in insurance company; experience in life insurance company would be an advantage;

•            Knowledge of basic medical terms;

•            Demonstrated writing ability and experience in business correspondence;

•            Fluent in English;

•            Good knowledge of office automation, fluency in using MS Windows and office applications;

 Personal profile:

•            High degree of analytical ability and consistency with decision;

•            High sense of urgency and ability to prioritize;

•            Good communicator;

•            Ability to concentrate and process data with accuracy; 

•            Digital mindset and willingness to create an impact.
