The Opportunity
The Claims Examiner in Czech Claims Team is responsible for end‑to‑end assessment and settlement of life and health insurance claims in the Czech market, ensuring fair outcomes for customers while protecting MetLife’s risk position.

Key Responsibilities
- Independently assess, evaluate, and settle life and health insurance claims in line with policy conditions, internal guidelines, and local regulations.
- Make sound, well‑reasoned decisions on complex or non‑standard claims, balancing customer fairness and risk management.
- Actively identify opportunities to improve claims processes, customer communication, and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with medical advisors, legal partners, underwriting, customer service, and other internal stakeholders.
- Use digital tools and data to support accurate, consistent, and timely decision‑making.
- Contribute to pilots, automation initiatives, and innovation projects aimed at improving claims outcomes and turnaround times.
- Maintain high standards of documentation, compliance, and audit readiness.
Required Qualifications
- University degree or equivalent professional experience (insurance, law, medical, economics, or related field is an advantage).
- Experience in claims handling, insurance operations, or a similar analytical / decision‑making role.
- Strong analytical thinking and ability to assess information critically and independently.
- High level of adaptability, curiosity, and willingness to continuously learn new skills and approaches.
- Innovative mindset with the confidence to challenge the status quo and propose better solutions.
- Strong sense of ownership, responsibility, and self‑management.
- Excellent communication skills in Czech (written and spoken); working knowledge of English is an advantage.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with life or health insurance claims in the Czech market.
- Exposure to digitalisation, automation, or transformation initiatives within claims or insurance operations.
- Experience working with claims systems, workflow tools, or data‑driven decision support.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a changing environment and manage ambiguity.
- Proactive, impact‑driven attitude with a strong customer focus.
