Position Summary

 

Responsible for preparing surveys for government and rating agencies (e.g., Fitch, Moody’s, S&P) using validated STAT and GAAP data from various departments. Tasks include compiling financial reports (2 to 4 pages), cash flow statements, supplements, and disclosures in Sovos and Wdesk (e.g., footnotes, MD&A, risk-based capital).

 

Job Responsibilities

 

·       Prepare and coordinate organizational surveys for Government bodies and rating agencies. 

·       Review and validate departmental submissions to ensure accuracy and quality. 

·       Perform financial analysis, highlighting significant variances and unusual trends. 

·       Provide timely responses to queries from regulators, auditors, state managers, and controllership. 

·       Manage multiple priorities to ensure all activities are met within deadlines

·       Respond quickly to the various queries of the Regulators; Internal and external auditors; State-side Managers and Controllership

·       Work under constant changing environment

 

Education, Technical Skills & Other Critical Requirement

 

Education

CA, CPA

 

Experience 

(In Years)

2-4 years of experience in STAT/ GAAP Reporting

 

Technical Skills

·       Experience in financial accounting and reporting.

·       knowledge of accounting and reporting standards with strong technical and research skills.

·       Highly analytical, inquisitive, and logical thinker with strong problemsolving abilities.

·       Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills.

·       Ability to quickly acquire an understanding of the organization's operations and its accounting systems.

·       Working knowledge of Workiva Wdesk, Sovos, Cubus and Peoplesoft application preferred.

·       Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Insurance industry experience preferred.
