Role Value Proposition

Responsible for USGAAP reporting and analysis in the Malaysia Center of Excellence (CoE) for the assigned Local Business Units (LBU): Japan/Korea. Collaborates with the LBU on related business concerns and also drives continuous improvements.


Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for USGAAP actuarial financial reporting (e.g. DAC, VOBA) for assigned LBU and feed journal entry support information to Controllers group
  • Interfaces with LBU to understand requirements and leads the delivery of high quality solutions
  • Calculates and reviews GAAP reserves according to principles and Standards of Practice (SoPs)
  • Collaborates with peers to fully understand the needs and issues related to assigned LBU
  • Assist LBU to address questions from auditors and regional office
  • Execute and improve existing controls on the reporting process
  • Plans, organizes, coordinates, and oversees the daily operation of assigned team
  • Provides technical direction to assigned team, identifies competency gaps and collaborates to close gap


Knowledge/Skills/Competencies Required

  • Bachelor degree in mathematics, statistics, or actuarial science and 5+ year working experience
  • Good progress in SOA Actuarial Examination close to qualification
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to analyze, interpret and address customer needs
  • Experience on actuarial and coding software such as Python, Prophet or Axis is useful
