A permanent job has come available within MetLife’s Fund Administration and Pricing team due to business expansion. 

The successful candidates will join an existing team of 6 and will gain valuable experience of all aspects of Fund Administration. This will cover all aspects of pricing/accounting for funds, underlying investments and the process and controls appropriate to the generation of these. You will also gain experience in the implementation and alteration of the company systems and processes to meet the changing business needs whether it be a change request impacting one system area or major project releases.

 

The primary function of these roles involves the production of accurate and timely prices for the unit linked funds within a portfolio. This daily pricing process is carried out by using an integrated Fund Admin system (Investpro) which generates investment accounting records and a daily declared price by fund. The role will involve ensuring a complete and accurate daily update of all market and investment activity and the reconciliation of all cash balances and investments back to third party sources. There are currently five portfolios of unit linked investment funds which are priced on a rotational basis by members of the Fund Admin Team. 

 

This is a great opportunity to work in a global multinational insurance company in a permanent job and work within a high performing fund administration team. It is an end to end senior fund administration role and you will gain a broad range of experience during your time here. You will gain a good insight into the full pricing cycle, control network and the associated accounting/reporting   

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • The generation of timely, accurate daily fund prices for the assigned book of business
  • Ensuring the calculated daily fund prices are consistent with the underlying market movements and stock actions
  • Ensuring the Daily Fund net asset value which forms the basis of the fund price is reconciled back to all daily inputs, instructions and third party records e.g. bank accounts \ custodian records \ mutual fund records
  • Carry out other regulatory and management reporting in a timely\accurate manner 
  • Participate in the Met Life Fund Administration team internal interactions and external interactions in a professional and competent manner as directed or as required through the normal operational activity of the area

   

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

  • Fund administration experience within a unit pricing area is essential (A minimum of 2-3 years of experience is essential but a greater number of years’ experience is viewed as an advantage in this role) 
  • Previous experience of working in a busy deadline driven team within a finance area/department 

 

The following would be advantageous but are not essential:

  • Prior experience working in life insurance 
  • Experience of Bloomberg/ Investpro
  • Strong Microsoft office capabilities, in-particular in the use of excel
