Sr. Software/Platform Engineer

Purpose or Mission of the Role:
The Sr. Scrum Leader I supports application development and infrastructure products. The person assigned to this role enables the agile teams to deliver maximum business value by aligning teams focused on modernizing and delivering technology products. In this function you will:
- Train, Mentor and Coach team members, proactively eliminate barriers, protect team from external interferences and facilitate team meetings to ensure delivery on the iteration’s goals.
- Work closely with the team members, Product Owners, other Scrum Masters, Release Train Engineers and stakeholders to support iterations and Release Planning, foster team self-awareness, encourage cross-training, decision-making and continuous improvement. Help teams become high-performing teams.
- The Sr. Scrum Leader I guides, coaches and mentors no more than 2 Agile teams towards maturity in Agile frameworks. Works in daily collaboration with the team, facilitating all key Agile ceremonies. Acts as a servant-leader to the team, helping to proactively identify and remove impediments while protecting the team from external distractions.
Responsibilities and Duties:
• Lead up to two onshore and/or offshore scrum teams working on moderately to highly complex workflows.
• Help teams adopt agile values, embrace and apply agile principles, and implement agile practices.
• Facilitate transparency and foster a mindset of continuous learning.
• Conduct daily stand-ups, iteration reviews, and iteration planning ceremonies to ensure full team engagement.
• Actively manage interdependencies among dependent teams.
• Collaborate with the Product Owner to support both short- and long-term release planning while maintaining a healthy backlog ready for execution.
• Work with the Release Train Engineer and other Scrum Masters to remove cross-team impediments.
• Shield teams from external interference to ensure optimal functionality and productivity.
• Anticipate and address or escalate potential or actual impediments to team delivery (cultural barriers, logistical challenges).
• Facilitate and leverage retrospectives to ensure continuous team improvement.
• Track and report on agile team metrics (CFD, Burndown/up, velocity), escalating issues as needed. Ability to report in both waterfall and agile methodologies.
• Coach teams through the exploration and adoption of agile engineering practices (e.g., test automation, CI/CD, BDD, Agile Architecture).
3+ years experience in software engineering
- Bachelor in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics and agile software development including coaching on Agile methodologies, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Intermediary in English, Native in Spanish
- Experience with being exposed to senior leadership stakeholders, fostering transparency and a “no-surprises” culture
- Displays strong communication, organizational, analytical, critical thinking, and team building skills.
- Advanced presentation, influencing, facilitation and relationship management skills.
- Comfortable discussing business functions, operations, strategies and objectives
- Able to navigate ambiguity well
- Knowledge and experience in Agile frameworks, preferable SAFe, Scrum or Scaled Agile (in that order)
- Scrum Certification: Certified Scrum Professional (CSP), Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), Professional ScrumMaster (PSM), Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) Certification (SSM, SASM) // Desirable to have certifications
