Enterprise Architecture ensures a holistic strategy and approach to technology solutions by working broadly and globally across the company. We support all areas of MetLife in developing and implementing the MetLife and GTO strategy -- Business Units, Global Operations, Application Development, Info Sec, Data and Analytics, and Infrastructure.

 

MetLife is seeking a Lead Architect to support enterprise and solution architecture across the US portfolio. You will be responsible for delivering architectural roadmaps and solution architectures aligned to one or more US business portfolios. In this role, you will lead the architecture of enterprise solutions spanning multiple domains, including digital channels, security, integrations, data, AI, cloud, and infrastructure across a diverse set of technologies.  Working in Enterprise architecture allows you to influence alignment to enterprise strategies and standards by building relationships across business, technology, and enterprise partners.  As an enterprise architect, you will champion innovation and continuous learning, inspiring creative solutions and shaping enterprise strategy. You will foster collaboration and knowledge sharing across teams, building strong networks within MetLife.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create 3-year roadmaps aligning Line of Business strategic and tactical needs with modern enterprise architectures.
  • Delivers fit-for-purpose, secure, scalable architectures in an agile framework that evolves with the line of business via collaboration with AD teams, business, and engineering across all levels of the organization.
  • Domain expert and technical authority within a US Insurance organization with demonstrable hands-on skills.
  • Enable AI-based solutions aligned with enterprise standards 
  • Utilize Cloud technologies, preferably Azure, to enable PaaS-centric enterprise solutions.
  • Keeps abreast of current and future technology trends, especially those fit for purpose for the LOB.
  • Provide leadership in developing standards, architectural patterns, ensuring architectural governance, and best practices.
  • As a technical leader, by example, you will mentor junior architects’ capabilities to apply modern technology and techniques for enterprise solutions.
  • Evangelize and raise the technical bar of the whole US Technology Architecture organization through training, publishing, and mentoring.

 

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills: 

Required: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline (CS, EE, ME, Math, or equivalent)
  • 7 years of experience in designing, engineering, delivering, and architecting enterprise business solutions
  • Experience architecting enterprise solutions in the cloud, including IaaS, SaaS, and PaaS technologies 
  • Experience designing and engineering across multiple technology domains, including application, data, security, cloud/infrastructure,
  • Recent applied experience delivering solutions through Agile methodology, preferably SAFE

 

Preferred: 

  • 10+ years’ experience designing, engineering, delivering, and architecting enterprise business solutions
  • Proven experience working with Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies.
  • Industry experience in Finance/ Insurance with a strong understanding of sector-specific challenges.

The expected salary range for this position is $100,000 to $137,700. This role may also be eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation. All incentives and benefits are subject to the applicable plan terms.
