You will be part of the Investment Finance Analytics and Reporting team that is also building out more capabilities around supporting ceded reinsurance transactions from an investment’s perspective.  The role will include core U.S. GAAP and Stat investments reporting responsibilities related to SEC and NAIC filings and related activity and a new reinsurance support team related to accounting and reporting for investments activity within ceded reinsurance transactions.  The team collaborates closely with internal stakeholders in the Investments organization and the Controls, Analysis & Reporting (CAR) organization to uphold MetLife’s reputation for financial integrity and operational excellence.

Responsibilities:

· Preparing and reviewing reconciliations and support for investments data related to reinsurance transactions

· Working with various reinsurance teams to onboard new transactions and develop support models as needed
· Accounting and reporting related to reinsurance and other investment requirement
· Maintain a control environment in keeping with MetLife standards

· Lead AI and automation efforts

Prepare and review investment related U.S. GAAP and U.S. Stat footnotes and other reporting related activities

Professional Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting, or equivalent professional experience
• 5–8 years of progressive financial experience in public or private company environments; insurance industry experience preferred
• Knowledge of GAAP and STAT accounting principles, financial accounting, and reporting standards
• Proven experience in financial reporting, analysis, and month‑end close processes
• Solid background in internal controls, compliance, and risk management
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, advanced data analysis)
• Hands‑on experience with data analytics, automation, and visualization tools, including Alteryx, Power Automate, and Power BI a plus
• Experience with financial systems and ERPs (PAM, BI Publish, PeopleSoft, Oracle products) a plus
• Exposure to digital automation and process optimization, including RPA solutions
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including goal setting, prioritization, and cross‑functional collaboration
• Expertise in organization and process building, creating scalable, efficient, and automated financial workflows
