The Team


The position sits within the newly consolidated Data and Analytics (D&A) organization supporting MetLife's U.S. Business. U.S. D&A assists all business lines of MetLife’s U.S. business (about 2/3 of MetLife Global by earnings) with everything related to data, analytics, and data science, from data infrastructure, data governance, data engineering, data modeling, and data analysis to business intelligence, data science, and AI. 


The Role


The Management Development Consultant will support in establishing and managing skill set communities and data communities by data domain. They will assist in organizing training programs, leading cultural transformation initiatives, and managing U.S. D&A rebranding and brand management inside of MetLife U.S. This role will help build a more confident future for the D&A organization by improving visibility, collaboration, and alignment with USB goals. They will also assist community technical experts with peer influencing and mentoring and creating practice standards, positioning the D&A team as thought leaders in the industry.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Support Skill Set Communities and Data Communities: Assist in designing technical skill set affinities throughout the organization, organizing training, sharing, and other meetings or events. Support community technical experts with peer influencing and mentoring. Help create practice standards.
  • Assist Data Owners and Data Stewards: Help establish data communities by data domain, enroll people in the community, plan events, ensure engagement and sharing.
  • Support Training Programs: Assist in creating and running programs around business knowledge, business communication, influencing, etc., and technical cross-training programs for various skill sets within D&A.
  • Assist Cultural Transformation Initiatives: Support the cultural shift from traditional technology-focused data team to a business-outcome-driven mindset. Help develop training, redesign performance metrics, and create other tools to increase D&A business impact and stakeholder satisfaction.
  • U.S. D&A Rebranding and Brand Management: Assist in organizing events, supporting presentations at various staff and other meetings, assuring our presence at other events, and generally highlighting the positive impact of D&A.
  • Help with Internship Programs: Assist in designing and running internship programs and longer programs for junior talent.
  • Support Job Family Design: Collaborate with HR and D&A technical experts to redesign D&A job families. Help broaden several families, create cross-training programs, and manage change.


Required Skills: 


  • 3+ years of experience in developing and implementing communication and engagement plans, focusing on large meetings for all employees, and creating content for various topics across multiple channels and platforms.
  • Experience creating training programs for technical and non-technical skills, as well as working with HR Training departments and external training vendors.
  • Strategic thinker who understands how to connect ideas with a passion for using storytelling to create experiences that drive engagement and participation.
  • Effective driving action through teamwork, stakeholder management, organizational change, and adaptability, capable of motivating individuals and influencing various levels to achieve objectives.
  • Prior successful creation and management of communities around certain skill sets or domains, community organization and event planning.

 

Preferred Skills: 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred in HR, Learning & Development, editorial writing, communications, events, PR, marketing, or a related field.


Location:  


  • This position will be hybrid at one of our MetLife offices in Cary, NC, or NY, NY.

The salary range for applicants for this position is $80,000 - $117,200.
