Description and Requirements

Role Value Proposition:

We are seeking a skilled Principal Cloud DevOps Engineer with 5+ years of experience in designing, building, implementing, and managing data, analytics, and DevOps expertise with CI/CD automation and MLOps platform on Azure Cloud. Will be responsible for ensuring Automated deployments, cost monitoring, operational observability, supporting data engineering, analytics, and machine learning workloads.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Consult with business partners and data engineering teams to understand data platform challenges and opportunities. Analyze existing data workflows, pipelines, and infrastructure to identify areas for modernization and automation.
  • Design and implement scalable data platform solutions tailored to business needs, including recommending the right technologies, architecting data pipelines, and defining infrastructure deployment strategies.
  • Evaluate and select appropriate data platform tools, frameworks, and cloud-native services to optimize performance, cost, and reliability.
  • Collaborate with data engineers, cloud architects, and cross-functional teams to deliver end-to-end data platform solutions. Ensure seamless integration of data services into existing systems and workflows.
  • Build quick proof-of-concept prototypes to validate platform designs, pipeline architectures, and infrastructure automation approaches.
  • Produce detailed documentation, including architectural diagrams, CI/CD pipeline definitions, runbooks, and implementation guidelines.
  • Define and enforce DevOps best practices, including CI/CD pipeline design, version control strategies, and environment promotion workflows using Azure DevOps.
  • Manage and automate the DevOps pipeline, ensuring repeatable, auditable, and consistent deployments across environments.
  • Communicate platform designs and technical decisions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

 

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

Required: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field, or 7+ equivalent professional experience will be considered
  • Cloud Platforms: 5+ years of experience with Microsoft Azure, including deep knowledge of Azure services (Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Databricks, Data Lake, Machine Learning, etc.)
  • Containerization: Experience with Docker, Azure Container Instances, and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
  • DevOps Skills: 
  • CI/CD: Strong experience with Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar platforms
  • Automation of infrastructure, application deployments using Azure DevOps Pipeline / GitHub actions.
  • Programming: Proficiency in Python, PowerShell, Bash, and/or other scripting languages
  • Monitoring & Logging: Experience with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights, or similar tools
  • Data Engineering: Knowledge of data pipeline orchestration tools (Databricks, Azure Data Factory)
  • Soft Skills:

Preferred:

  • Azure Monitoring and Cost Optimization.
  • Databricks Observability and Dashboard.
  • Manage and automate the provisioning of cloud infrastructure using Terraform, ensuring repeatable, auditable, and consistent deployments across environments.

Location Expectation: This is a hybrid role requiring a minimum of 3 days per week in office.
The expected salary range for this position is $135,000 - $185,000. This role may also be eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation. All incentives and benefits are subject to the applicable plan terms.
